 Pastor's Welcome

Dear Friends,

Welcome, Bienvenido, Witamy!

In the name of the whole parish family of the Most Holy Trinity – St. Mary, I welcome you to our web site. It is my hope that this will be a new experience for many of you and will help you to come and share the joy which we live here in our parish. Most Holy Trinity was founded in 1841 and St. Mary's in 1853.  For over 150 of those years, we have lived in a “Mendicant” Tradition with the arrival of the Sisters of St. Dominic in 1853 and the arrival of the Conventual Franciscan Friars in 1981. Together with the people of God we live the Mendicant tradition of St. Francis and St. Dominic begun in 1209.  Our desire is to live with the poor, as the poor and to come to know and follow the poor Christ.  Living this way allows us to be open to Jesus present in all people, creation, the Scriptures and the Sacraments of the Church.

Jesus has made His presence known to those who have come to our church since its beginning.  All people of every race, language, persuasion and point of view are welcome here.  All are our Brothers and our Sisters and in the Spirit of St. Francis and St. Dominic we walk the journey of faith together. It is our hope that you share a part of this journey with us as you enjoy this website. You are always welcome to contact us via our email address: mhtbrooklyn@yahoo.com, our telephone 718-384-0215, or just stopping by to visit.

Enjoy the Christian journey which you will share via this site.  Along with our brother St. Francis, I wish you PAX ET BONUM, that is, Peace and all Good!

Fr. Pedro DeOliveira, OFM Conv.
